Boat Dock Attendant
PURPOSE AND PERFORMANCE GOALS
Greets all guests in a professional and courteous manner and provides accurate and timely information and services. Responsible for daily operation of recreation department, including interacting with guests, cleaning, checking out bikes/boats, and daily activities. Must be able to gain knowledge of the resort and surrounding area to provide accurate information to guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
· Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of boats, kayaks, paddle boats, fishing poles, and other equipment and facilities in accordance to established procedures.
· Refuel boats, restock consumables, merchandise, and other supplies.
· Provide instruction to patrons utilizing boat dock amenities and equipment
· May be responsible for driving/providing boat rides and event service to patrons
· Will assist guests with loading and docking boats, kayaks, paddle boats.
· May work as a fishing guide assisting guests by driving boat or instruction on sport fishing.
· Communicate clearly with Recreation Supervisor and Recreation Manager as well as fellow associates.
· Provide information on activities and amenities including, but not limited to: Boating & Fishing, Fitness Center, Hiking & Biking, Horseback Riding, Hot Air Balloon Rides, Group Recreation & Teambuilding, Kid’s & Family Programs, Resort Pool, Special Events and Winter Activities; must be able to answer questions and assist guests in these areas.
· Assist in the implementation of activities, including bonfires, pool activities, group activities.
· Make reservations and sales--recording cash, check, room charges, and paperwork in accordance to established procedures.
· Incorporate safe work practices in all duties.
· Provide exceptional customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 16 years of age. Boater safety license is required for driving boats
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Must have or be able to obtain a boater safety license and have experience driving and docking boats. Must be able to swim and have general knowledge of water safety rules. Experience with boat care and
maintenance, including fueling boats, preferred. Experience with kayaking, paddleboats, and fishing equipment is a plus. Customer service experience and knowledge of the resort and surrounding area is a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Candidate must be able to communicate clearly with guests, supervisors, and fellow associates.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Must be able to calculate amounts and apply basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
REASONING ABILITY
A candidate should have the ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense while maintaining customer satisfaction.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Boater safety license required, CPR and First Aid preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to stand/walk around for extended periods of time. Must be able to kneel/crouch. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
HOURS
Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry and the fact that the Resort provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, an associate may be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends and night shifts. Also, depending on business demands, hours may be reduced at any time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Frequently works in hot and humid outdoor weather conditions. Occasionally, comes in contact with pool chemicals (mainly chlorine briquettes) and frequently comes in contact with cleaning chemicals.
